Invest In Resilience, Longevity and an Optimistic Outlook

Updated: May 21

How to combat the onslaught of short-term panic to see through to the long-term goals.

There is an argument here to be made for each and every aspect of our lives that we feel "sure" about, and of all the worries, anxieties and fears that create uncertainty and questions within us about our own capability to go foward successfully.

When we don't feel right in our bodies, and when we have ignored or been unable to see the deeper reasons why that is, then we start grappling for short term solutions just to get through the day.

If I am constantly dragging my energy levels behind me like a ball and chain, then I can sub in as much caffeine and quick acting energy that I can find - and there is an abundance of it available out there - but I will always have that feeling of just trying to make it back to my bed at the end of the day.

If that's your end motivation upon waking up; how long it will take you to complete the absolute minimum amount of work before you can return to the useless vegetable state that your body is desiring to return to, than something is not right in your life.

If you are unable to look past the next day, the next week, or even the next 5 years with out any sense of optimism, hope, or certainty about your own future, or if you dawdle around wondering whowhatwhenwherewhy the next "thing" is that will make you feel better, than something is broken within your physiological ability to connect to a higher purpose. In order for your life to be in line, your physical body - the interface, if you will, through which you achieve and act on all the feelings your body generates - must also be performing in a well-oiled, efficient and ease-ful manner. We are complicated systems; electrical, mechanical, chemical, and beyond. If all of those systems are not tuned and debugged every now and then, the stresses are too much for the body to handle.

Imagine you grew up in the same house since childhood. Now imagine you are still living there, and think about all the things that had at one point or another inhabited that space. Think about the items from other lifetimes. Childhood toys stuffed in closets or thrown away. Old sheets and bed frames, stains and spills soaked into the carpets or wood floors from various activities.

Now what if you had never once done service to that space (your home), in that entire lifetime you lived in it? If you hadn't gone through and updated and repaired things as needed. What if you had just let that tub keep leaking that, and you didn't spend the energy and effort to tear out the rot and replace the pipes? Things would be pretty nasty under there, no matter how well you covered it up.

And quite often, we will just tack on another superficial layer as a way of avoiding the work of getting rid of the old, and cleaning the mess. Talking from my past life as a builder and home remodler, eventually you will have get back down to the bones of the structure, and a leaking roof is a hell of a lot more work to repair when there have been five layers of short term or immediate fixes applied to an existing structure that has been slowly deteriorating from the inside out of neglect.

Are you starting to get my picture? Have you let so much crap accumulate in your system that there's no more room to put it anywhere, and your body is starting to fall apart and kick out the excess waste at all costs? Headaches, low energy, skin conditions, back pain, hip pain, aching all over, bladder dysfunction, digestive disregulation, intimacy issues, you name it. If something isn't working the way you feel like it should be, than you are probably on to sometihng, and you should trust the messages your body is sending you. This way you can begin to build continuity and a connection to the process of moving from the ground up, and ensuring that every action you take, or every thought that you have, is actually coming from a place of purpose inside you, rather than the other way around.

Beleive or not, when you start to feel less resistance in your body, you start to feel less resistance in your LIFE. If you wake up with a nagging sensation, or move through the day with a ball and chain that is stuck dragging you down and detracting you from enjoying the moment and achieving the freedom you desire, just know that it is not supposed to be that way, and that you are actually capable of enjoying the things you love and are motivated to do.

All of this can be acheived by a simple approach to the complex cooperation and cohesion that our bodies need to operate successfully. Cleaning house, shedding old fears and habits, finally getting over that crippling back pain. All this is possible by bringing attention to the physical systems we operate within, and building resilience to the noise that enters from the outside.

Start looking at our bodies like everything else we care about. It's time to clean house, get rid of old junk and organize the past, so that you can move forward into the future with less limiations. Start treating your body like the house you'd like to live in for the rest of your life. Invest in longevity, by putting in the effort NOW.
